Refund Policy for PTIB-Approved Programs
The refund policy applies to all students enrolled in PTIB-approved programs. Below are the circumstances under which refunds are applicable and the corresponding amounts:
Before Program Start Date ( Applies to all students):
- Full Refund:
- If the institution receives a notice of withdrawal no later than seven days after the enrolment contract is signed and before the program start date.
- 100% refund on tuition and related fees (excluding the application fee). Related fees include administrative, assessment, and textbook or course material fees.
- Partial Refund (Up to 10%):
- If notice of withdrawal is given at least 30 days before the later of:
- Program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance (for international students).
- Program start date in the enrolment contract.
- The institution may retain up to 10% of the tuition, with a maximum of $1,000.
- Refunds for course materials must be provided if not already given to the student.
- Partial Refund (Up to 20%):
- If withdrawal occurs more than seven days after signing the enrolment contract and less than 30 days before the program start date.
- The institution may retain up to 20% of tuition, with a maximum of $1,300.
- Course material fees must be refunded if not provided.
After Program Start Date date ( The institution provides a notice of dismissal or receives a notice of withdrawal) (Applies to all students except those enrolled in a program delivered solely by distance education.)
- Up to 10% of Instruction Hours Provided:
- The institution may retain up to 30% of tuition.
- Refunds for course materials must be given if not provided.
- 10% to 30% of Instruction Hours Provided:
- The institution may retain up to 50% of tuition.
- Refunds for course materials must be provided if not already given.
“No-Show” Policy for Students (Excluding Distance Education)
- Student does not attend the first 30% of the program:
The institution may retain up to 50% of the tuition. Additionally, the institution must refund any fees paid for course materials that have not been provided to the student.
Institution receives a refusal of study permit (Applies to international students requiring a study permit):
Before 30% of the instruction hours are completed, a student may have started the program later than one of the following dates: the program start date indicated in the most recent Letter of Acceptance or the program start date in the enrollment contract. Additionally, the student must not have requested any additional Letter(s) of Acceptance. In this case, the student will receive a refund of 100% of tuition and all related fees, excluding the application fee.
Withdrawal or Dismissal After Program Start Date (Distance Education Students)
- Student completed up to 30% of the program:
The institution may retain up to 30% of the tuition. Additionally, the institution must refund any fees paid for course materials that have not been provided to the student.
- Student completed more than 30% but less than 50% of the program (based on evaluation provided to the student):
The institution may retain up to 50% of the tuition. Similarly, the institution must refund fees paid for course materials if they have not been provided to the student.
Refund Timeframe
- Institution must pay the tuition or fee refund within 30 days after receiving notice of withdrawal or refusal of study permit; providing a notice of dismissal, or the date on which the first 30% of the hours of instruction are provided (no-show).
Course Cancellation by the College:
In the unlikely event that a course is canceled, it will be rescheduled to a later date.
Refund Policy for Non-PTIB Approved Programs
Some programs do not require approval under the Private Training Act. As such, students enrolled in these programs cannot file claims against the fund with the trustee. Refunds for these programs are subject to the following conditions:
- Refund Form Submission:
- A properly filled and signed Refund Form must be submitted to the College administration.
- Refund Calculation:
- Refunds are based on the total tutoring fees minus the non-refundable application, material, textbook, and other related fees.
- Before the First Day of Class:
- If the Refund Form is received before the first day of class, the institution may retain 50% of the total fee due under the contract.
- After 10% of the Course:
- No refunds are provided if the student withdraws or is dismissed after completing 10% of the course.
- Refund Processing Time:
- It may take up to 14 days to process a refund application.
